The main hotel for the conference is the Executive Inn and Suites located 4.5 miles from Mills campus. There are unfortunately no decent hotels closer to Mills. I have secured preferred rates with the Executive Inn from November 1 to November 5th included. A shuttle service departing the Executive Inn will be available in the morning and in the afternoon for transportation to and from Mills College. Please book the rooms directly with the hotel.
I have also reserved accommodations on Mills campus, a more economical option.
There are many other hotels that provide appealing accommodations, but they do not offer special rates. Please contact these hotels directly to learn about their rates.

Located near Jack London Square on the Oakland Estuary, the Executive Inn & Suites provides continental breakfast, swimming and spa facilities, free parking, and airport shuttle service to and from Oakland International Airport (to be booked directly with the hotel). Restaurants are located nearby, and the hotel offers complimentary shuttles services to Jack London Square and the Lake Merritt BART station (not available for groups; individual guests must sign up with the front desk upon check-in). There are two types of rooms: single with a king size bed, and double with two queen sizes beds.

Single or Double (water view*): $179
Hotel room rates are subject to prevailing applicable state and local taxes (occupancy tax of 14% currently, plus Ca. Tourism fee of .0195%; and Oakland TBID fee of $1.50 per room per day).
*The city view consists of a view on the parking lot and the street but the rooms are very quiet; the water view is amazing and some rooms even have balconies; if you can I suggest the water view.

Cancellations:
Based on the agreed billing method, all guests are responsible for their own charges. Any reservation cancelled by the guest more than 24 hours prior to scheduled arrival will be honored and no penalty will be assessed.
Reservations cancelled within 24 hours of scheduled arrival will be charged one night room and tax.
2- Mills College accommodations
The advantage of Mills accommodations, besides the price and the convenience, is the nature, the calm, and the beauty of the campus. The downside is also being on campus: it is a bit far from restaurants and night life. There are two restaurants on campus: Founders and the Tea Shop, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (see food tab for more info)
I have arranged for two types of accommodations on campus: private guestrooms and residence rooms with shared bathrooms.
Mills Guestrooms (see pictures)
Five guestrooms are available, situated in historical buildings. They are very comfortable and spacious, and they range from $75-$120. Mills Hall 414 and 415 are just across the bell tower, which can be disturbing (the bell rings every 15 minutes). Mills Hall and Ethel Moore buildings have the reputation of being haunted. I slept in both buildings quite soundly and without being visited by ethereal creatures…

Aurelia Henry Reinhardt (AHR) Residence Rooms and shared bathrooms(see pictures)
19 rooms are available for $65 per night including bed linens and towels.
There are 10 single rooms on the top level with 2 shared bathrooms, 5 single rooms on the middle floor with 3 shared bathrooms, and 4 single rooms on the bottom floor with 2 shared bathrooms.
There is also a full kitchen with a limited amount of kitchen supplies, and a lovely sitting and working area.
This residence rooms are plain and simple, clean, with comfortable beds but without special decorations or beauty besides the building itself and the nature around.

There is also Airbnb and VRBO for those who prefer a more “homey” accommodation, but I would not recommend to stay close to Mills, and I would advise to keep this solution for accommodations in San Francisco, Berkeley, or one of the following Oakland neighborhoods: Lakeshore, Piedmont, Rockridge, or Montclair.
Logement
L’hôtel avec lequel j’ai pu obtenir un tarif préférentiel est le Executive Inn and Suite, il est situé à 7 km de Mills. Bien que Mills College soit un campus magnifique, il n’y a pas d’hôtel suffisamment confortable dans le voisinage ; c’est pourquoi j’ai choisi un hôtel un peu plus loin.
Le tarif préférentiel est valable pour les nuits du 1 au 5 novembre inclus. Une navette partira de l’hôtel pour Mills le matin et reviendra en fin de journée. Pour les trajets en dehors de ces horaires, il vous faudra vous déplacer par vos propres moyens. Pour toutes réservations, contactez directement l’hôtel.
J’ai également arrangé des possibilités de logement sur le campus de Mills et il y a aussi beaucoup d’autres hôtels très agréables dans les environs. Cependant ils n’offrent pas de tarifs préférentiels.

Situé près de Jack London Square et sur l’estuaire d’Oakland, cet hôtel présente de nombreux avantages : petit déjeuner inclus, piscine, parking gratuit, service de navette gratuit jusqu’à l’aéroport d’Oakland, Jack London Square et la station de BART du Lake Merritt(le tout à réserver individuellement avec l’hôtel). J’ai réservé deux types de chambres : simple avec un “king size bed” et double avec deux “queen size beds”.

*la “city view” donne sur le parking et la rue. La “water view” est beaucoup plus jolie ; elle donne sur l’estuaire, ses canards et sa verdure.

2- Logements à Mills College
En outre des tarifs très raisonnables, le campus offre l’avantage d’être un parc très calme et reposant. Le désavantage est d’être un peu plus éloigné des restaurants, cafés et bars.
Deux types de logements sont disponibles sur le campus : les “guestrooms”, très confortables avec salle de bain privée et kitchenette, et les “résidence rooms”, plus simples avec salle de bain partagée.
Mills Guestrooms (voir photos)
5 guestroomssont disponibles. Elles sont situées dans des bâtiments historiques et sont décorées dans un style “victorien” (voir PDF avec photos et descriptions). Leurs tarifs varient de $75 à $120. Mills Hall 414 et 415 sont situées en face de l’horloge de Mills qui sonne tous les quarts d’heure ; ce n’est pas très bruyant mais cela peut déranger certains. La légende veut aussi que Mills Hall et Ethel Moore Hall soient hantés. Cependant j’y ai dormi de façon très sereine et sans être dérangée.

Il s’agit de 19 chambres “d’étudiant” avec des lits d’une personne et des salles de bain partagées (voir PDF avec photos et descriptions). Le tarif de ces chambres est de $65 par nuit et cela inclut draps, couvertures et serviettes de toilette. La résidence a également une cuisine équipée d’électroménager et d’ustensiles de base. Vous devez mentionner clairement que voulez une chambre de la AHR résidence et que vous faites partie de la conférence de la SE17.
