-The Graduate Center offers French doctoral candidates a five-year fellowship package, including tuition and $25,000 each year for the first five years of study, one year of support without teaching, three years of teaching one course at one of the CUNY colleges, and one year as a fellow in the Writing Across the Curriculum Program within CUNY. -Our Program has unique curricular options, foremost a concentration in Human Rights and the Francophone World, which we were among the first to create within a French doctoral Program. We also have options in Performance Studies, Translation and French Cultural Studies.
-We are equally strong in Francophone and 21st-century literatures and cultures and in the medieval and early modern period.

-Twenty-six members strong, our faculty is nationally and internationally known for its wide range of research and publications. It includes several Distinguished Professors, two, Professors Mary Ann Caws and Domna Stanton, based in French.
