The Grant

By scholarship grants and the Marc de Montalembert Prize the Fondation Marc de Montalembert aims at  developing a better knowledge of the cultures of the Mediterranean world, in particular amongst the young people of the region.

The Marc de Montalembert grants provide support to projects related to Mediterranean cultures or to artistic crafts and trades. Such projects shall help young people from the Mediterranean region to verify a personal vocation while at the same time encouraging increased knowledge and understanding of the heritage and know-how of the region.  The Grant is awarded annually.

Since 1994 the Marc de Montalembert Foundation has helped 24 projects presented by young people from 7 Mediterranean countries. The projects covered writing, architecture, archeology, music and song, art history, ethnography, anthropology and sociology, artistic crafts [and trades], painting and photography.  The Grant is of 7000 Euros. The Marc de Montalembert Foundation also offers the winner the opportunity to reside – if so desired – at the Foundation’s base in Rhodes, Greece.
