The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies (non-tenure track), starting August 2015. Two-year renewable contract with competitive salary and benefits. Responsibilities include full-time teaching (4:4), coordination of beginning and intermediate level language courses, advising, active participation in French and departmental events, and service on departmental committees. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in French and Ph. D. in hand at time of appointment. Area of specialization open. Special consideration given to candidates with training in language acquisition and technology-enhanced language instruction. Ability to teach French for Business strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and proven teaching excellence to provide innovative instruction along with a strong sense of commitment to building our undergraduate program and our interdisciplinary program in European Studies.
